Ms. Ishara Weerasinghe
This lesson was about how to face job interview with confidence by using good communication. It showed that what you say and how you act both matter a lot. I learned that small things like eye contact, smile, and tone of voice really make big difference. It also taught how to prepare before, answer questions with STAR method, and how to present yourself more professional way.
Verbal & Non Verbal Communication
🔸 Speak clearly and confidently
🔸 Maintain eye contact
🔸 Use positive body language
🔸 Smile and show interest
Preparation Tips
🔸 Research the company and role
🔸 Practice common interview questions
🔸 Prepare your own questions to ask
🔸 Dress appropriately for the interview
STAR Method
🔸 Situation - What happened
🔸 Task - What you had to do
🔸 Action - What you did
🔸 Result - What was the outcome
Successful Candidates
🔸 Ask questions
🔸 Use company name and job related terms
🔸 Make eye contact and smile
🔸 Give detailed, specific answers
What i learnt 🎯
✅ Verbal & non verbal communication are both key in interviews.
✅ Prepare by learning about the job and company.
✅ Use the STAR method to answer clearly.
✅ Body language, eye contact & voice tone matter a lot.
✅ Know how to talk about your skills, studies & goals.
✅ Learn what successful candidates do better.
✅ Ask smart questions during the interview.
✅ Follow the 6 C's of good communication.
✅ Listen well and give real examples.
✅ Dress right and take what you need.
What was interesting 💡
What I found interesting was how much nonverbal stuff matters in interviews 93% of what we say comes from body language, tone and face expressions. I didn't knew that before. It showed me just giving right answers isn't enough, you also need to look confident and show positive vibes. I also liked the STAR method 'cause it helps to give answers more clear and easy.
